My name is Danielle (Hanson) Peterson I am from a small town in Wisconsin called Manitowish Waters. I loved growing up in such a close knit community where I learned good values and how important it is to live every moment as if it was your last. Dessert was always one of my passions growing up. Chocolate was known as my favorite food and still is! I was lucky to grow up with the two best bakers and cooks, I call them mom and dad. As a child I would always watch my dad in the kitchen while he made dessert, of course hoping to get a spoon or beater to lick. I loved watching cooking shows with my family where I was inspired by Giada De Laurentiis, Paula Deen, Pioneer Woman, Trisha Yearwood and Nancy Fuller. Eventually, I was able to get my way into the kitchen with cooking and baking. Once I went off to college at University of Wisconsin-Stout, I missed being able to cook and bake, but when I went home my parents made sure I had the ingredients to bake away. Stout is also where I met my husband and once we moved in together I was back to cooking and baking, that is where I taught him the basics and he is now my sous- chef. After many years of trying out recipes and making them our own along with giving them away to family and friends, we have received so much positive feedback about how we should start our own bakery- that we have decided to start looking into the process and thought a food blog would be a good first stepping stone. Always Dessert 1st will showcase my love for baking, family, fitness and traveling the main loves of my life.
